David Park / Pastor. Photographer.

David Park is a second generation Korean American raised in the South. As pastor, he desires followers of Jesus to enter into multiethnic, healthy relationships in community and on mission. But mostly, he’s still figuring out how to be a decent husband, father, and friend. David is married to Sunita and they have two children, Anju and Jonathan. Anju is quick to point out David’s ineptitude loudly and in public. And until recently, Jonathan was scared of pineapples and accused David of smelling funny, also loudly and in public.

Sims Lamason / Kids’ Ministry Extraordinaire. Theater Wunderkind. Therapist.

Sims found her way to Open Table in 2004 via a winding, God-led path.  A professional musical theater performer by trade, Sims has always had a natural inclination toward teaching, which she puts to use in numerous youth theater programs around the city.  Originally brought on staff to assist with worship, she shifted to children’s ministry when the need arose three years ago.  She now has the privilege of teaching and learning from OTC’s incredible kids, creating original curriculum that reflects the church's unique heart, mission and diverse population.  In all her free time, Sims is pursuing a graduate degree in mental health counseling with the aim of serving Atlanta’s underrepresented and at-risk populations as a drama therapist.  She and her husband Shawn have twin five-year-old boys who dominate every aspect of their existence.

Daisy Hernandez / Nursery and Toddler Teacher.

Growing up on Buford Highway, Daisy was introduced to Open Table Community through an after school program. She first had an opportunity to work with children when she joined the youth group. She quickly realized that she had a passion for working with children. She works to support and encourage every child's desire to be lifelong learners and to build lasting relationships with other children and adults. When she is not working with children, she spends her time dancing with her family, or singing Karaoke with friends.
