Mistakes will be made.

At Open Table, we start from the premise that we are not perfect. We are all broken – “that’s how the light gets in” (as Leonard Cohen sings it). It’s the reason why we try to lower the power dynamic and the production value (but yes, we are also cheap and wilt under the pressure to be interesting). We are trying to create room for honesty and vulnerability. 

This means taking a look at our fears, biases, and reflecting on where God is asking us to walk more closely, even with others. Real church is not easy. Mistakes will be made. Feelings may occur. Doubts may be stoked. But this is all so that faith and grace may abound.
